Lilly has
published its latest corporate responsibility report, which highlights some of
the company's key achievements in terms of sustainability and corporate
citizenship in recent months.
The pharmaceutical firm has been able to help more than 227,000 people through its patient assistance programs, launch a new physician payment registry and donate around $430 million (273.96 million pounds) to global charities in 2010.
It has also improved energy efficiency, cut water usage and reduced workplace injuries, while encouraging staff to participate in volunteer schemes.
The new report was compiled using the Global Reporting Initiative framework and is designed to provide maximum transparency in terms of monitoring the company's sustainability credentials.
Dr John Lechleiter, Lilly's chairman, president and chief executive officer,

innovation-based business strategy, our culture and the day-to-day operations
