Ρήγμα στους φαρμακοποιούς...

Διχασμένοι παραμένουν οι φαρμακοποιοί της Αττικής για το αν θα πρέπει να συνεχίσουν ή όχι τις κινητοποιήσεις τους. Η γενική συνέλευση του Συλλόγου τους (ΦΣΑ) έγινε χθες σε έντονο κλίμα και -μέχρι τα μεσάνυχτα- δεν είχε κατορθώσει να καταλήξει σε απόφαση. Το προεδρείο είχε προτείνει να συνεχιστεί έως το τέλος του μήνα το «εμπάργκο» προς τους ασφαλισμένους του Εθνικού Οργανισμού Παροχής Υπηρεσιών Υγείας (ΕΟΠΥΥ), το οποίο έχει ξεκινήσει από τις 23 Μαΐου.

Takeda's new diabetes drugs accepted for EMA review

Takeda has announced that two new combination diabetes therapies it has developed have been accepted for review by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The regulator has ratified the company's marketing authorisation applications for new single-tablet therapy options that combine alogliptin with pioglitazone or metformin.

Πράσινο φως από το Ελεγκτικό Συνέδριο για την πληρωμή προμηθευτών των νοσοκομείων

Το πράσινο φως για την καταβολή οφειλών σε προμηθευτές ιατροτεχνολογικού και υγειονομικού υλικού στα νοσοκομεία, άναψε η Ολομέλεια του Ελεγκτικού Συνεδρίου, που αποφάσισε κατά πλειοψηφία να ξεμπλοκάρει τα εντάλματα πληρωμών.

Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες των Νέων, οι ανώτατοι δικαστές, με ψήφους 22 έναντι 13, έθεσαν για την πληρωμή των επίμαχων ενταλμάτων και μία «κόκκινη γραμμή». Αποφάσισαν ότι οι δαπάνες για τις απευθείας αναθέσεις προμηθειών δεν μπορούν να ξεπεράσουν τα όρια του Παρατηρητηρίου Τιμών.

Οι φαρμακοποιοί συνεχίζουν τις κινητοποιήσεις τους μέχρι τις 30 Ιουνίου

Τη συνέχιση των κινητοποιήσεων ώς τις 30 Ιουνίου αποφάσισαν οι φαρμακοποιοί της Αττικής και ώς τότε οι ασφαλισμένοι του ΕΟΠΥΥ σε Αθήνα και Πειραιά θα πρέπει να πληρώνουν από την τσέπη τους τα φάρμακα που χρειάζονται. Σύμφωνα με δημοσιογραφικές πληροφορίες η γενική συνέλευση των φαρμακοποιών ήταν μαραθώνια και διεξήχθη σε κλίμα έντασης. Είναι χαρακτηριστικό ότι ο πρόεδρος του Φαρμακευτικού Συλλόγου Αττικής Κώστας Λουράντος απείλησε με παραίτηση από τη θέση του, επειδή αρχικά φάνηκε ότι δεν έβρισε ανταπόκριση η πρόταση του για συνέχιση των κινητοποιήσεων.

Τελικά, έπειτα από ψηφοφορία, 491 φαρμακοποιοί στήριξαν τη συνέχιση των κινητοποιήσεων και την αναστολή της επί πιστώσει χορήγησης φαρμάκων, ενώ 478 καταψήφισαν την πρόταση.

Merck Serono announces final efficiency program for Switzerland

Merck announced today the outcome of the Swiss consultation process and the final plan for restructuring the operations of its Merck Serono division in Switzerland. This includes the closure of the Geneva and Coinsins sites. The initial proposal was presented by the Merck Serono division to employees on April 24, 2012, providing Swiss-based employees the opportunity to provide alternative proposals in order to avoid the job cuts envisaged in the plan, to reduce their number, or to minimize their impact, in accordance with Swiss law. 

The final measures presented today are the result of the analysis by the company of all proposals received from employees and numerous discussions with employee representatives including the trade union Unia, during and after the consultation period.

Downloading of software updates for lifesaving medical devices proves very dangerous

When it comes to security, one of the scariest things out there sounds like science fiction and pertains to hacking implantable medical devices. Pacemakers and insulin pumps do help save lives, but they are vulnerable to lethal attacks; there are continued warnings that exploiting these medical devices will eventually cost someone their life. Here’s a slightly different take on the scenario; you’ve heard of drive-by-downloads that can infect a machine with malware without the user agreeing to the automatic download, but how about serving up malware in software updates for medical devices such as ventilators?
