Σαμαράς: «Με τη Δημόσια Υγεία δεν παίζουμε»

Έκκληση να σταματήσουν τις κινητοποιήσεις, απηύθυνε στους φαρμακοποιούς ο κ. Αντώνης Σαμαράς.

Σε συνάντηση που είχε μαζί τους χθες, ο πρόεδρος της ΝΔ παραδέχτηκε ότι υπάρχει πρόβλημα με τα χρέη του Εθνικού Οργανισμού Παροχής Υπηρεσιών Υγείας (ΕΟΠΥΥ) και πως θέση της ΝΔ είναι ο συμψηφισμός τους με τα χρέη των φαρμακοποιών προς το κράτος.

Σημείωσε, όμως, ότι πρέπει να υπάρξει μία εκτόνωση, για να μην ταλαιπωρούνται οι ασφαλισμένοι:

'Με τη Δημόσια Υγεία δεν παίζουμε. Ούτε με την αγωνία και τον πόνο όσων την έχουν ανάγκη', υπογράμμισε ο κ. Σαμαράς.

FDA approves Roche’s breast cancer drug

US regulators have approved Roche’s new breast cancer drug after granting it a priority review to speed up the process. The FDA says Perjeta (pertuzumab) can now be used with Roche’s Herceptin (trastuzumab) and docetaxel chemotherapy for patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (mBC) who have not been treated before.

The approval is based on the pivotal Phase III CLEOPATRA study, which showed this combination increased median progression-free survival by an extra 6.1 months, compared to patients receiving Herceptin and chemotherapy alone (median PFS was 18.5 against 12.4 months). 

GE Healthcare and Microsoft launch Caradigm joint venture

GE Healthcare and Microsoft have launched a new joint venture called Caradigm, which aims to improve the use of real-time intelligence in healthcare systems.

The 50/50 venture plans to develop and market an open healthcare intelligence platform and collaborative clinical applications, with the goal of enabling better population health management to improve outcomes and the economics of health and wellness.

IMI launches 7 new projects to tackle major health research challenges

The Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) has successfully launched its third wave of projects. The 7 new projects, which have a combined total cost of €215 million and will run for 5 years, are taking on some of the biggest challenges in healthcare research. Some of the new projects aim to speed up the search for more effective treatments for certain diseases and conditions that are currently difficult to manage.
