Pfizer and Grunenthal: Digital Innovators of the Year


Pfizer and Grunenthal have been named the inaugural winners of the PharmaTimes digital innovator of the year award in recognition of their excellence in embracing digital marketing. 
Presented at PharmaTimes Marketeer of the Year Awards, Grunenthal’s UK Senior Marketing Manager Matt Lowe was crowned Digital Innovator in the UK, while Pfizer’s European Brand Director Robert Collingbourne took home the European title.

This is the first time PharmaTimes has recognised digital excellence within the pharmaceutical industry and introduced the award this year to recognise the marketeers who are embracing the new opportunities presented by digital marketing in an innovative and ground breaking way but within the spirit and code of the relevant regulatory frameworks. 

Other finalists nominated by agencies for the awards were: Ian Davidson of Shire; David McCormick of Roche; Nicola Forster of MSD; Daniel Coombes of Bayer; John Pugh of Boehringer Ingelheim and Richard Emmerson of Amgen.

Nineteen companies were represented in the awards with wins going to: Paul Clark of Napp Pharmaceuticals for Aspiring Marketeer; Ash Miller of Ferring for New Marketeer; Daniel Selby of AstraZeneca for Senior Marketeer; Heike Gruetzmacher of Shire Germany for National Brand Manager; Michael Nedham of Shire Switzerland for Pan European Brand Manager; Bayer for Marketing Team; and Shire for Marketing Company of the Year. Meanwhile, ICC Lowe was named Communications Agency Team of the Year. 

The PharmaTimes Marketeer of the Year Award is the only competition that is case-study based and focuses on individual and team marketing competencies, rather than assessing real in-market projects and campaigns thereby ensuring a level playing field for all participants, regardless of the size of their company, brand or agency and also removes any potential concerns that participants may have in sharing commercially sensitive marketing information.
