Για ωμό εκβιασμό κάνουν λόγο κορυφαία στελέχη φαρμακευτικών επιχειρήσεων, μετά την απόφαση για επιβολή από 01.01.2013 έκτακτου τέλους ύψους 15% επί των λιανικών πωλήσεων κάθε φαρμακευτικού προϊόντος, στην περίπτωση που οι επιχειρήσεις δεν δεχτούν να πληρώσουν το ποσό που τους αναλογεί για την υπέρβαση της φαρμακευτικής δαπάνης (claw back).

Σύμφωνα με το ρεπορτάζ, οι φαρμακευτικές εταιρείες παραμένουν ακόμη μουδιασμένες από την ανακοίνωση της επιβολής του ειδικού τέλους, όπως περιλαμβάνεται στην Πράξη Νομοθετικού Περιεχομένου, και μιλούν για «εκβιαστικό δίλημμα» εκ μέρους της κυβέρνησης και συγκεκριμένα του υπουργείου Υγείας.
